Since 1972, the school has been run by the Sisters of Notre Dame under the Barat Society and is placed under the patronage of Mary, Mother of Jesus.
Situated in the sylvan surroundings of central Bangalore, Sophia High School is one of the finest examples of premier English education in the city. Founded in January 1949, Sophia is enriched by the patronage of two saintly religious women; St Madeline Sophie Barat, and St. Julie Billiart, the founders of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and the Sisters of Notre Dame respectively.
Sophia firmly believes that all students be recognised as individuals in their own right, who must be granted the opportunity to evolve personally and academically in a supportive environment. In addition to striving for excellence in academics, the school also seeks to impart a strong sense of personal integrity and fundamental values to our students. We believe that we are responsible for facilitating the growth of well-adjusted individuals who are assets to the various personal and professional communities that they belong to. Towards this, we inculcate in our students personal and professional well-being, wisdom, excellence and compassion. Affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), Sophia prepares students to appear for the ICSE examinations at the high school (class 10) level and for the ISC examinations at the pre-university (plus two) level. The medium of instruction is English and high school students can choose to study either Hindi, Kannada or French as a second language. Students enrolled in the ISC programme may choose one of three streams of study: Arts, Commerce or Science.

Sophia is a 75year old institution started by the Sisters of Notre Dame the school hosts5,000seater air conditioned auditorium with a large playground and teaches children from kinder to ISC in ICSE Syllabus

A very bad school, teachers don't teach basic common sense to children and girls wear very small skirts. The sister doesn't say anything. But some students are an exception like the people I met last evening, they were sweet hearts.

Recently passed out of Sophia and let me tell you, it really is the best place for education. There is a combination of extracurricular activities and education. There is something for everyone. The teachers are really good and they really care about the students and bond well with them.

ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಯಾವೋ ಕಿಡಿಕೇಡಿಗಳ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ನೀಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಡೆಗಣನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿ.. ಕನ್ನಡ ನುಡಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಇಲ್ಲವಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಬಹುದು. ಈ ಮಾತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೋಧನೆ ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ೫೦ ಮಂದಿ ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೂ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಅವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ನಿಮಗೂ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

It is one among the school who doesn't deserve even single star. They simply conduct interviews to the child and after two months, they give a Nonsensitic replies. They block seats and later sell them for money. Poor parents just thinking that it is a good school, shell out large amount of money to the brokers and school donations.

We had applied for nursery for my daughter in sophias.. We received mail within a week regarding interview details , the interview process was smooth .. We were there on time token was issued and we waited for , 5-10 mins .. They asked for parents child photograph and then documents were cross checked .. Please be careful when submitting the application the initials of parents as to match with aadhar card and baby birth record certificate , post that interview was conducted by two sisters One of them engaged the child and other asked a few question to us .. It was simple . Kids to be prepared to show which is alphabet b, alphabet d. What is your name answer in full sentence Father's name , mother's name .. Do you have siblings ... Show me your eyes , nose how many fingers you have .... Which school your brother goes to .. And then the rhymes colours shapes My daughter Aarha did well answering the questions they mainly look how confident the child is how independent and can she understand what is being asked . For parents its just casual questions like how do you manage the kid as both are working . The whole process is simple and straight ... We are hoping for the best result And wishing you all the best if you are looking for admissions in reputed Sophias school.

Possibly the worst place for a child to grow up in. Absolutely traumatizing. Regretted every second of going to that school. But for the sake of Google and few of the amazing friends and 3 teachers I met there here's one star.
