Not a lot of schools focus as much on inculcating values amongst kids as they do on academics. Based on the principles of Bhagwat Gita, the foundation of New Horizon Gurukul was kept in 2010. The school is located in the eastern suburb of Bangalore city, Marathali. Gurukul follows Indian academic systems, and is centred on the idea of the holistic development of children.
Counted amongst some of the best CBSE schools in Karnataka, NHG follows an interesting model of imparting knowledge on cultural heritage with modern methods of teaching and learning. Focused on imbibing strong human values, the school tries to build a solid foundation of good character in students. The school is built on the principle of a ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind’. Except for teaching fundamental curriculum, the school focuses on imparting life skills in students like building relationships, emotion management, enforcement of positive behaviour, etc to deal with everyday situations.

The teachers, or moresoever, the gurus maintain a close bond with their shishyas to be their mentor and friend. They maintain a close relationship with the parents and the parents can even receive regular updates about their children and their progress through an online portal.
The school also organises multiple seminars and workshops each year to upskill the teachers such that with changing times, their teaching methodology also improves. NHG has also started an initiative - QASDC, in order to develop assessment tools to understand the potentials of teaching and non-teaching members and to organise relevant skill development programs.
The faculty participates in multiple competitions and receives recognition and awards more often. You can read about some of the achievements here: https://newhorizongurukul.in/faculty/.
Apart from the regular scholastic course, the school focuses on some CO-SCHOLASTIC SUBJECTS like Music, Dance, Yoga, Art, Physical Education to develop the personality of children in an inspirational environment.

The average student to teacher ratio at any section is 25:1 so that attention and focus can be paid to each student.
The school always believes in exposing students to different experiences to enhance the quality of their knowledge and to gain perspective in life. Events like inter school competition, inter house activities, science fair like Gyan Mela, social events like Uphaar (the children put up stalls and the proceedings go to charity), after school activities like Dance, Music, sports, Karate, astronomy challenge, etc, give students chance to participate and work on their all round development.

NHG gives great importance to developing other creative skills such as origami, craft, music and dance. These enhance the creativity and further boosts the self confidence of the students so that they can come out to be achievers.
The school’s curriculum boasts of being a perfect blend of academics and extra curricular activities. Thus Gurukulites as they go out into the world can easily be identified, as they are a class apart and are assets for the society and the country.
