In today’s fast-growing world, it has become imperative for young girls to grow into self-sufficient, morally rounded, and academically exceptional women. Convent of Jesus and Mary, keeping this in mind,  holds the rank of being one of the best girls’ schools aiming to promote spiritual purification and academic liberation in its students.

Admission

The admission follows a different procedure for admission across the Grades. 

K.G – Fill in the registration form provided by them and wait for them to revert back. Admission is subject to the availability of seats.

Grade 6 – Grade 9 – The parents are required to fill out the registration form provided by the school followed by the students needing to undertake a written entrance examination. 

Grade 11 – In the case of internal students, the top 50 students in mathematics and science will qualify for the Science stream, with a minimum requirement of 70%. A student must secure a minimum of 60% in mathematics to qualify for humanities and 65% for a seat in commerce. For external students, an entrance exam will be conducted followed by an interview by the Principal upon qualification. 

Fee structure

The fee structure ranges from INR 14,000-17,000 per quarter.

Curriculum

The Convent of Jesus and Mary is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE). The school excels in providing academic facilities starting from KG and continuing up to Grade 12. 

Catechetics for Christians and a value-based education for students are integral to their academics. Classes in religion are conducted alongside academics with a view to preserving the Catholic faith that is obligatory for every Catholic child to attend.

Grades 11 and 12 are bifurcated into three streams- Science, commerce, and arts respectively, with core English as a compulsory subject. Mathematics/Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer, and Science/Economics are the subjects offered in the Science stream followed by History/Physical Education, Sociology/Psychology, Economics/Fine arts, Mathematics/Political Science in Humanities and Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics/Po9litical Science in Commerce. 

Infrastructure

The school has a well-equipped infrastructure with separate divisions structurally for academics and co-curricular activities. A holistic growth remains their primary aim and the infrastructure promotes the same in students. Each structure gives young scholars the space and opportunity to experiment, reflect and flourish. Apart from spacious classrooms, the other facilities are bifurcated as below:

  • Labs – Experimentation and practical learning are imperative to make education relevant for students and nurture the young inventors in them. Convent of Jesus and Mary tends to the same need by providing the students with multiple labs such as the Chemistry lab, Physics lab, Biology lab, and computer lab.
  • Gym and Courts – Physical fitness and good health promotes not only physical development but also mental satiation. It lays down the ground for a life-long habit of giving utmost importance to excellent well-being. The basketball court, Table tennis equipment, and Gymnasium are parts of the infrastructure that help in giving propulsion to this aim.
  • Library – Central to academics is the library area- a place filled with infinite knowledge and wisdom. The convent has two libraries that play a crucial role in helping to strengthen academics.
  • Music room and Art room – Both music and art rooms help the students to work on their innate talent and pursue their passion or need to hone creative skills.

Co-curricular Clubs

Apart from helping young scholars excel in sports, Art, Music, etc, the Convent of Jesus and Mary gives them the scope to make optimum use of their caliber by engaging them in multiple clubs. The club list is as follows:

  • Literary club – To help students enhance their literary skills and inculcate a love for language, the literary club provides a platform for debating, Speech Drama, and Journalism. The respective clubs aim to encourage students to make use of intellect to generate confidence in them, thereby making them excellent orators. The club also aims to promote the communication skills of students and enhance their ability in them to succeed in teamwork. Lastly, presenting ideas creatively and artistically becomes a child’s forte with vigorous learning.
  • Environment and Disaster Management club – Global warming and pollution are the looming dangers hovering over the future generation. It becomes imperative to widen the consciousness of young scholars by creating awareness in them to help preserve the environment. To achieve this aim, the convent helps children undertake practical projects like paper recycling, fire drills, plantation drives, etc, thereby promoting sustainability.
  • Housekeeping club – The umbrella topics in Home Science is what this club covers – starting from teaching them needlework, knitting, and home management up to generating awareness in them regarding First aid, this club promotes all-round development.
  • Community service club – The practical establishment of moral values from a young age helps children become empathetic towards others and recognise the existing disparities and injustice in modern society followed by using the tools to demolish them. Projects like Health and awareness campaigns, Educational programs for the underprivileged, etc help in achieving the aim to strengthen the moral base of students.
  • Quiz club – Fostering Confidence in children and helping them develop their knowledge base on general issues is what this club aims for. A healthy competitive spirit is generated along with rooting in them the ability to desire knowledge.

Teaching staff

There are 74 teachers in total who are equipped with dynamic teaching methodologies to help students widen their lens of consciousness.
