Curriculum

The school follows a mix of curricula at various levels to make sure that the students get the best in class education. Below is the curriculum explained in detail –

Primary Years:

Pre-KG to Grade 5

In Pre-KG and KG I the children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which sets the standards for the learning, development and care of the children. It also ensures that our pupils become strong, responsible and independent learners.

From Lower Grade 1 we have adopted the Cambridge International Primary Programme which focuses on the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science (based on the UK curriculum) integrated with our TISB curriculum of Social Studies, ICT, Art, Music, Drama, Life Skills and PE (including Swimming and Yoga). In Grades 4 and 5 students also study a foreign language with a choice of Hindi or French.

Middle School:

Grade 6-8:

The curriculum in Grade 6 is designed to encourage independence, a love for learning, a willingness to take calculated risks and to provide a stimulating and encouraging atmosphere in which to grow and develop. Grade 7 is a time to take full advantage of the extensive co-curricular activities on offer, learn to build on skills already learned and develop further interests. Grade 8 is an exciting and challenging time as the student decides which subjects to pursue during the IGCSE two-year course starting in Grade 9.

Grade 9 – 10:

Students at TISB study nine or ten Cambridge IGCSE subjects, giving a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The IGCSE is an internationally recognized qualification that develops a variety of educational skills including recall of knowledge, teamwork and problem solving.

Grade 11 – 12:

During Grades 11 and 12 at TISB students will study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Programme is a rigorous two-year, pre-university course designed to provide students with a well-rounded, internationally regarded programme of study.  Students will need to maximize the independent learning skills developed throughout their school careers. There will also be plenty of opportunities to create a healthy balance between co-curricular and sporting activities. Students transferring from the Indian curriculums like CBSE and ICSE will be given support in the initial stages of transition in Grade 11.

Admission Process and Fees

As an international school in Bangalore serving applicants from around the world, TISB understands the need to be flexible to accommodate unique requirements, and therefore welcomes applications from students throughout the year, subject to Grade Level availability.
