**This feedback may be relevant to Catholic candidates** The institution feels to have lost the ethos of Mary ward in today’s age; it is just a show. Being catholic, our first pick was to be part of such a prestigious institution however, the reality is different. In today’s era, there is no place for Christians in schools like LH despite earning good and people without a high-class background are not very much welcomed. It’s not that they should fill entire seats with Christian candidates only but they can at least consider 20-25%. They are compelled to admit a handful of Christian candidates that too from local parish, just because they have to show it, otherwise they would probably never do it. Another reason why Christian candidates are ignored is the participation of non-sisters in the interview process. Married principals interviewing a Christian candidate will never understand them. They somewhere lack compassion and virtue of sacrifice to social service which is not the case with catholic nuns and parish priests. this way the needy beneficiaries are thrown out. We were catholic candidate. We knew the candidates are asked basic verbal questions, asked to solve puzzles, speak rhymes and things like that. We have been preparing for over a year to get a place in Loreto House. Our daughter was well prepared. We were interviewed by the principal MRS. Aruna Cecilia Gomes. Conversation was good and only between parents and principal and surprisingly the candidate wasn’t even asked name. we were not selected in final list.no clue what went wrong. felt like it would have been better to apply in general category. For a moment we had a sense of discouragement of being Christian. We were interviewed in another reputed school by the nun and were warmly welcomed. LH is not for you, if you want admission based on catholic quota, probably try at other Loreto or other convent schools. May be LH is afraid of losing its fame if entertained weaker sections. At some point we started to doubt if the seats are traded. It is definitely upsetting but no regret, whether we are part of LH or not, as a Christian its always a proud moment to see the minority institution is flying high and has a name on top (but for whom?!). we wish them best.

If there was a medal for “The most improper management and behaviour towards students and parents”, Loreto House would be given the 1st prize handsdown. I am deeply disappointed by the rude behavior exhibited by the principal (Ms. A. Gomes) of this school. Their lack of professionalism and respect towards students, parents, and staff is unacceptable. Instead of fostering a positive and supportive environment, they create tension and discomfort with their demeanor. Their behavior sets a poor example for the entire school community and undermines trust and morale. It's disheartening to see such behavior from someone in a position of authority and influence. All of the teachers fear this person and are hesitant to help which involves her presence. My daughter needs maths in her +2 but shes quite weak in it. She has desperately tried to improve herself and she has. She had to give an enterance test to get maths with commerce. She is quite confident that she did well but to her surprise her name was not in the list posted by them for students who got maths. They’re so adamant that they wont even tell us how much she got in her enterance exam. They called us along our daughter one day to go and meet the principal. Upon visit we were being asked by Ms. Gomes about our purpose of the visit which was weird since they had called us. When we said we want to know the enterance exam marks and the possibility for getting maths with commerce, she got furious and questioned our audacity to waste her time for this reason. We were kicked out of the office. We were told to leave immediately. This is just disheartening and disrespectful on so many levels. I am appalled. There was no need for the occurrence of this situation. If they didnt want to give maths, it couldve been conveyed over call. There were parents who got a call too and were rejected for maths over call itself. The exact same thing had happened with my elder daughter when she was requesting for maths. We were humiliated and kicked out of the office. Then we had to change her school. If you are a parent of a daughter. It is a request to you to not even consider this school. Whatever i have said here is just the tip of the iceberg. You have no idea to what levels the faculty goes down and the things they preach. Its absolute disgrace.

LORETTO HOUSE MIDDLETON ROW KOLKATA. Worst school ever. I removed my daughter. Teachers are rude and misbehave with children. Teachers practice caveman tactics of teaching children and this amounts to fair amount of damage to the natural instincts of learning of a child.. Degenerate methods of teaching. No sports facility. Worst ever experience as a parent. The principal has high handed methods of dealing with parents who may be facing genuine problems with their children at school. We as parents are afraid to complain because then your child is singled out and harassed by teachers in the class. The old teachers have been thrown out from the school. The teachers at present hardly can teach. They dont explain anything in class. Lots of homework. The corrections done by teachers during exams contain a lot of mistakes. Teachers give impression grades to children. If a child works hard and wants to improve but she doesn't that is because the teachers will give her impression marking. Thus the spirit of a hard working and sincere child is broken. Rude teachers and stifling environment of loretto house middleton row can only create disgruntled and disturbed Individuals who learn very early in age that... Being rude is correct. Not studying is fine. Being boastful and insincere is also fine. Our children learn very early in life to misbehave with their elders...because loreto house middleton row teachers and the principal are their role models. As parents we are in dismay and shock watching our children talking and behaving in rude and weird manner with their elders at home and surroundings. Very early on children are told not to share copies. Parents should not meet up or speak to each other. Not to show their report cards to their friends in the class. Hence any mistake made by the teacher in the copies is never caught as parents do not have other examples to compare to. Infact I faced this acute problem that if my child is absent then she will not get any help from her friends as they will not show their copies. When my child was in class 2 ....imagine a teacher sitting and doing heavy makeup on her face while the children are doing classwork. I had gone to meet her and I was shocked at the glittery eyeshadow and heavy makeup on her face. 😐 Grades are understandable in nursery and lower classes. It is stupid to grade children in class five and onwards. All this in name of we encourage no competition among children or we want them to enjoy school years. The child who scores a 90 also gets an A grade and the one who scores a 98 also gets an A grade....think where this leads our children to believing. I have worked in that school for a month. I was shocked the way teachers talk about the parents. Teachers gang to target a particular child or a parent. I left realising what a great mistake I had made. Removing my child was the best descision of my life. I removed my child just in time. Many parents are suffering In silence. The government should look into these issues and take the school under their wing. I as a parents only saw tears in my child's eyes. I as a parent saw her helplessness I as a parent saw my child friendless and alone in that school. The harshness of the teachers would have destroyed her had I not stepped in on time and removed her from that unfriendly environment. Loretto house middleton row, this school no longer carries the ethos of what a great school it once was. It is just a brand name now. A brand that is destroying young minds and can only add more to our problems in the society. The West Bengal government should set up a committee to look into these problems. It should call the parents and speak to them. The government should act for the betterment of our children...I as a parent have suffered for many years in silence. Teachers throwing copies at the face of small children is unthinkable and is a punishable crime. Loretto house middleton row is now just a facade....a decaying glory of yesterday that primarily is a graveyard to education and self expression of small children
