DBIS Admission Policy 2021 - 2022RationaleThe admission policy and procedures at Don Bosco International School have been drafted so that thestudents are appropriately placed in an encouraging learning environment and they benefit from oureducational programs.BeliefsAt Don Bosco International School, we believe that:â— Applications are open to all, regardless of previous educational experience, nationality, race orreligion.â— Appropriate assessment is critical to confirming proper student placement while enhancingstudent opportunity to experience educational success.â— DBIS, enrols learners with learning difficulties or physical challenges. However, to best supportour students, it is critical that honest assessment of special learning needs and our ability toadequately support these needs is determined prior to student acceptance.2As stipulated by the DBIS Governing Council, only 24 students can be admitted in a particularclass of a grade.Exceptions may only be made in the below cases, however, if an exception needs to be made, thestipulated numbers per class of a grade will not exceed 25. i. Staff Child ii. Sibling Case Admission into the Early Years:â— Admission process for Junior KG of an academic year will begin online from the 1st ofNovember of the previous calendar year.â— Admission forms will be accepted only during the period specified/declared by the school.â— Applications to the Early Years are shortlisted by the administrative department on the basisof proximity to the school and sibling cases.â— This is followed by a panel interview with the parent and observations of the applicant by thelearning support department.â— A selection committee comprising the School Leadership, decides on the final list of selectedstudents.Admission into Senior Kindergarten to Grade 5:â— The applicant undertakes a diagnostic in Math and English. This is to ascertain the applicant’sNumeracy and Literacy skills. This enables the school to ensure that it is equipped to supportthe student in all areas in case of admission into DBIS.â— The Head of School interacts with the parent of the applicant and makes the decision forselection of the applicant.For all selected applicants:â— An acceptance letter will be sent to those students who have secured confirmedadmission.â— If a student’s fees are not received within 7 days, the seat will be offered to the first eligiblestudent from the waiting list.â— The school will not be responsible for a parent not having received an email relating toadmission.3 Minimum age requirement for admissions across grades

The following documents should be submitted as part of the admission process:- 3 photos each of the child, father and mother.- Address proof.- Birth Certificate.- Medical Performa (A letter from the paediatrician stating that your child is fit to attend school and there are no medical conditions that need to be reported).- Immunization record (wherever necessary)- Previous year academic report card (wherever necessary).- Leaving certificate (wherever necessary)- For Roman Catholics – Original baptism certificate and letter from your parish priest- Any other information parents consider necessary for the school (including special educationneeds and/or evaluation reports if any)
