Indus Universal School – Encouraging, enlightening, and empowering the new generation

Move on, Hyderabad! Secunderabad is here with a hoard of amazing schools to take over as the new education capital of the state. We have covered so many schools from Secunderabad that we are starting to believe this ourselves! Whether it is in terms of infrastructure or the teaching methodology, schools in Secunderabad are very much in the race.

In this article, you guessed it right, we are covering yet another school from the same area – Indus Universal School. Why is it one of the best schools? Because it has a plethora of facilities to offer to its students. Established with the motto to encourage, enlighten, and empower young minds for a better tomorrow, the school offers a blend of tradition, values, and modern education.

Let’s delve deep and learn more about the school.

You know where it is located!

Indus Universal School is spread across 6.5 acres in Yapral Village, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad. The surroundings are clean, noise-free, and pollution-free, creating the perfect learning atmosphere.

It is affiliated to CBSE

The school offers education from Nursery to class XII and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. Its curriculum is based on NCF (National Comprehensive Framework).

It has excellent infrastructure and facilities

Indus Universal School has pre-primary, primary, and middle school blocks with ramps to help children reach different parts of the school. It is apparently the only school in our city so far with this facility. Here’s more about its facilities:

Classrooms

Octagonal in shape, the classrooms here have ample natural light. The architecture is such that the temperature does not go beyond a certain degree in any classroom. This, teamed with comfortable furniture, gives every classroom a great ambiance.

The school restricts the strength of each classroom to 30.

Laboratories

Promoting application and experimentation, Indus has multiple laboratories for science, math, language, and computers. There’s also a special learning-by-doing lab, which has material and equipment to help children learn through a concept called “constructivism”.

Library

Two separate libraries with age-appropriate books help children break the monotony of textbooks and enter the world of imagination. Each library has a seating area as well, so that children spend time reading books in peace.

Learning corners

The campus has various learning spaces where children can gather for mini-projects and activities. This goes to show that learning is not restricted to the classrooms at Indus.

Digital theater

The digital theater is used for value-based education for large groups or classes. All sections of different grades learn together in the digital theater, which has a seating capacity of 200.

AV rooms

The AV rooms are used for individual class gatherings for workshops, seminars, and lectures. They have digital equipment such as touch-screen boards, an audio system, and projectors, and can seat 50 children.

Multi-purpose hall

With a seating capacity of 750, the multi-purpose hall has green rooms and AV systems along with a vast stage. It hosts school functions and events.

Open-air amphitheater

Equipped with a PA system, the amphitheater here can accommodate 300 students. It is also one of the many learning corners in the school.

Playground

The school has an excellent setup for sports, which meets international standards. From a cricket ground to a swimming pool to a multi-purpose mini-ground and a primary play area, the playground has it all!

Co-curricular activities

Aesthetic music rooms, dance room, and art & craft rooms are among the many facilities the school provides to encourage children to take up activities. A few activities are a part of the curriculum while others are optional and children have the choice to pick their favorites.

Dining

The school’s dining room can accommodate 1000 children and thus, all kids come together to enjoy delicious meals that are cooked in the school’s kitchen. Indus has non-negotiable hygiene standards that are regularly checked and maintained.

Transport

The Indus management promises comfortable and safe transportation to all its students. It has a fleet of buses that run on a pre-determined schedule.

It offers constructive education

Learning here is based on constructivism. It is an active process through which children acquire knowledge with experience. Assessments, settings, experiences, and authentic tasks are used to ensure better learning. Every child collaborates and learns through various tasks and experiences, making learning participative and not passive or lecture-orientation.

We can also see that the infrastructure facilitates such learning with various labs, learning corners, digital rooms, etc.

The teachers are facilitators and support every child’s needs, tailoring lessons such that all children learn together and grow together.

We are mighty impressed by Indus Universal School. Are you?
