Rockwell International School – Balancing studies, activities, and play

The whole world is a teacher.

Learning is endless. We learn from art, sport, people, and nature. All these lessons go much beyond what we would usually learn in a typical classroom setting through textbooks.

Today, when we think about education and the future of our children, we think about all-round development. We envision our kids grow into responsible human beings. It is an absolute pleasure when schools, where our kids take our first steps towards achieving their dreams, share this vision and devise their teaching methodology around it. Rockwell International School in Kokapet is one such school.

Founded by Mr. Subash Boha, the school’s primary goal is to develop a customized curriculum that caters to the holistic development of each child and nurtures every child’s inner potential.

Academics at Rockwell

The teaching methodology at Rockwell blends experiential learning, experimental learning, and co-curricular activities. In other words, the school strictly believes that children learn best when they “do.”

Furthering this conviction, Rockwell Education System (RES) also includes field trips, excursions, and experiments in its academic curriculum, ensuring better outcomes when compared to standard blackboard learning.

Each learning group at Rockwell follows a specific learning procedure:

  • Pre-primary School: Children in Nursery, PP-1, and PP-2 form the first learning group. The focus at this level is on broad-based learning. Their curriculum is devised to help them with emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Primary School: This is when formal learning begins. Communication, enquiry-based concepts, performing arts, physical activity, and environmental awareness are a part of the curriculum. Grades 1 to 5 fall under this learning group.
  • Middle School: Comprising 6th to 8th grades, this learning group focuses on academic delivery. Formal Assessment and Evaluation begin at this stage along with the understanding of one’s academic and co-curricular abilities and talents.
  • Secondary and Senior Secondary School: Classes 9 and 10 are considered secondary and classes 11 and 12 are senior secondary. These grades start working on the prescribed IGCSE/CBSE syllabus to prepare for their futures. Co-curricular activities that they are interested in and would like to pursue are still a part of their learning.

Achievements in academics and beyond

Students of Rockwell International School have brought laurels to the school on several occasions. Be it academics, languages, sports, or art, the children have aced every year.

Learning at Rockwell International School is a step-wise process, and we think the teaching methodology and integrated curricula are two of the main reasons why it stands as one of the best international schools in Hyderabad today.
