It was settled by the Patha Bhavan Society on 28th June, 1965. The president of the society Satyajit Ray and Uma Shehanoibis had a great role behind the foundation of the school. This school goes along the principle of secular education. The Sahitya Sabhas are annual meets where students partake in the writing, reading and recitation. It is one of the excellent quality co-educational school in Kolkata. Teachers are well qualified. A very few ex-students are Ditipriya Roy, Srabani Sen, Gargi Roychowdhury, Sandip Ray, Amit Kumar, Maitreesh Ghatak, Anik Dutta, Siddhartha Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Soham Chakraborty, Lagnajita Chakraborty, Kushal Chakraborty, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Parama Banerjee etc etc
