School History and Vision
SM Education Society was established in 1965 with the vision 'Knowledge is Power' by late Dr. Nazir Ahmed. SM English School came into existence in 1985 as an unaided, private school following a skillfully packed CBSE theme under the state board curriculum. The school has successfully spread its branches to various parts of the city over nearly 60 years.
Educational Approach
SMES follows a blend of Montessori and traditional methods, incorporating the best of both worlds. The curriculum is designed to provide academic excellence, creativity, and character building, with community-based activities to build qualities like citizenship, compassion, and empathy. A child-centered learning approach focuses on each child's unique needs, interests, and developmental pace.
Newspaper-in-Education Initiative
SMES has introduced Newspaper-in-Education (NIE) from a leading state publication to improve students' general awareness. Fortnightly interactions with experts from different fields are organized to increase student exposure to the outside world and expand their knowledge beyond academics.
Physical Growth and Wellness
The school provides a playground for physical activities and encourages students to engage in sports and outdoor play. Yoga classes for classes 4 to 10 are handled by experts, with students participating in competitions during Dasara and Karnataka Rajyotsava. Yoga is recognized as vital for physical and mental growth.
Mission and Core Values
SM Education Trust aspires to produce citizens whose surge for excellence will help them achieve their goals and go beyond. The mission is to provide school education that ensures academic excellence, empowers students, and arms them with faculties to conquer their dreams. The school develops young minds into competent, confident, and responsible adults.
Faculty and Teacher-Student Ratio
The school boasts well-qualified and experienced teachers trained to handle children in a professional and nurturing manner. A favourable teacher-student ratio helps faculty focus on each child's needs and cater to their development. The school maintains individual attention to ensure each student receives support and guidance.
