The Gitanjali Group of Schools was founded in 1985 by Mr. Uma Karan and Mrs. Gita Karan. Mrs. Gita Karan has been an educator with over 40 years of experience and is a recipient of the National Award for Best Teacher by our then President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Under her leadership, the school has continued to innovate in teaching methodology and cultivate life long learning within our student and teacher community. Mrs. Karan even today provides personal attention to oversee the progress of each child enrolled in a Gitanjali
Our award winning schools have grown rapidly and are considered among the most prestigious schools in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The curriculum is rich, the standard is high, and the number of students in each class is restricted. Our schools are committed to a smaller student population with available square footage per child on par with large international schools offering personalized teaching and more participation opportunities. The medium of instruction is English, and the first languages taught are Hindi and Telugu, and the second languages offered are Hindi, Sanskrit & Telugu.
We regard education as a building process. We have a proper plan, a system for efficient implementation of the plan, for checking/follow up and for corrective action when things go wrong. Once the students are with us, we follow them up until they succeed. That explains why there has been not a single failure in these 30 years. Academic results are excellent not because we are selective but because our teaching is methodical, comprehensive and well planned. We encourage children to achieve their maximum potential. Teachers and students share a close rapport because of the limited numbers in each class. Our leadership monitors the progress of each child. In addition to recognition of our founder, Gitanjali Schools have been consistently ranked year after year among the top day schools in India by Education World magazine, Education Today, Times of India, Outlook Magazine, Brainfeed Magazine, Careers 360, School Brilliance and Digital Learning magazine among others.

I have been a student of this school for 13 years now and I can say that I couldn’t have been the person I am today if it weren’t for this school and its wonderful teachers and environment. The teachers here never stop supporting, encouraging or motivating the students. Representing the school on various platforms, I can say that Gitanjali is never behind in anything- be it academics or sports. Its a heavy hearted feeling that I will be passing out this year but Devshala will always be a part of my life.

I'm an alumnus of this school. I love this place beyond words. Let it be the faculty, peer groups, extra-curriculars, or simply the total atmosphere, Devshala has topped the table at all times. Their efforts to constantly provide opportunities, and give their students exposure to various activities are truly commendable. What I'm today, has a lot to do with the teachers who had constantly supported and encouraged talent. I sincerely thank my teachers and the entire school management for giving me such a wonderful schooling experience. And to those who wish to join this school, go for it with no further delay :)

It's a pleasure to share my reviews about Gitanjali Devshala. I am a grandmother of 2 children who are Gitanjalians. It has been a long association with the school. I am extremely happy to share that my grandchildren are doing extremely well with the best foundation they have received from this school. The school staff and management have been very cooperative and have given the right direction for the children to become successful in their future.

Less ICSE SCHOOL, so this school is in demand, hence bad behaviour from the school management, office staffs and co- ordinater I wish one day no one comes for admission then school will understand and pay for the insult towards parents.. The Co-ordinater calls and purposely insults parents and mock at them with wicked smile stating that parents are stupid to come for admission.

Pathetic teachers! Very discriminatory treatment towards certain students who require a little extra help. My niece was in class 1 when her teacher chided her for no fault of hers and told her she would be kicked out from school. This had affected my niece so much that her acedemic performance as well as mental state started suffering that year. Complaints to the teacher and principal did not result in anything positive. We got her transferred to another school and now she's doing brilliantly.

It just seems like yesterday when I think about going back to school. It’s been around four years and I still miss Devshala for the kind of time I spent there. Words would be less to describe how the school focuses on the overall development of a student and the teachers who are always willing to help us out. I have my siblings studying in Gitanjali Devshala and I would say that it’s one of the finest schools one could join. They make a student’s school life so much better by giving them all the exposure needed.

I am an alumni of this school and trust me, this is my home. I have spent almost 13 years of my life here and have become what I am today. Gitanjali pays alot of attention on the holistic development of a child. They don't focus solely on the academic point of view but also pay close attention to groom the present talents of the students. Yes, there are a few faults with the school. For example, the computer rooms are not fully equipped and the AV rooms and some classrooms too are not properly ventilated. But these are not irreparable problems. So, I hope the management keeps an eye out for such problems. The teachers are very friendly and understanding and are always ready to help the students whenever they have a problem. We have a lovely ground and even students with special needs are welcome to be a part of the family. I am thankful to Devshala to have shaped me into the person I am today. I miss this school.

I have joined in the year 2005. I was studying in class 7. I actually came from another place to Hyderabad and I was new to the syllabus and new to the atmosphere over there. I may behave differently but instead of making me feel comfortable, all my classmates bullied me. They behaved as if they were allergic of me. They never made me sit alone peacefully also. Even when we all used to go to any place in the school bus, nobody used to make me sit next to them. I used to stand. When I asked my teacher, she scolded me for simply complaining. A teacher's son was in my class. He was silent. I was silent too. But one of the teachers used to praise him for being silent but at the same time she scolded me for being silent. Why that much partiality? Because he is teacher's son and I am not? One boy has stolen my pen which my dad sent it to me from kuwait. When I told one of my teachers about it as my class teacher was out of station, she appreciated that boy when he accepted his honesty. She didn't scold him because he was a merit student. My chemistry ma'am used to insult me that it's difficult to pass me. I would not like to mention her name but chemistry ma'am, I am now a graduate in my MBA and working in a wonderful software company.I sent her my friend request, so that she can see my success. She dared not to accept me plus I saw the mutual friends list. To my shock, it was all merit students. Looks like her mind didn't grow at all and will never grow. Later I had to repeat my 7nth class,I was not like other students, signing tc and going to another school. I boldly repeated my 7nth class. There also my chemistry ma'am insulted me saying that I shall repeat my 7nth class again. Fortunately when I have repeated my 7nth class, my classmates were extremely cooperative. Whoever are reading this from my batch, I am extremely thankful to all of you. All of them may not be close to me but they have understood my silence. I passed my 7nth class successfully the second time, and in the end, when I got promoted to 8th class I was good but school head tried to get rid of me because I was an average student. But 8, 9 and 10 classes, I came out with flying colours and proved all the faculty members who tried to insult me that they are wrong and I am right and I won and they lost. What I got to learn from that school is good communication and writing skills and good English. For that I am extremely thankful and I don't feel sorry for speaking too much because I don't want the coming generation to suffer. That's the reason I wrote all these. In the end, I would like to thank Devulapalli ma'am, Asha ma'am, Devna ma'am, Sobha Rao ma'am, Pravitha ma'am, Neela maam, who stood by me in difficult times and gave me emotional support when I was down. Last but not the least, I would like to thank C.Srinivas sir, because he is the main role and because of him I was able to come out in flying colours. PS: I forgot to mention one thing. If you want recognition from this school, either you should be studying in this school for long, either you should be rich, either your parent or relative must be a faculty or you must be a merit student .If you don't have either of it, have it from me, you don't mentally belong to that place. Thank you.
