About Mongrace Montessori House

The educational ideas of Dr.

The educational ideas of Dr. Maria Montessori permeated through the world and inspired countless people to free the child from the shackles of formal education. Instead, Dr. Montessori offered 'a prepared environment', where the child could perform activities with interest, joy and self achievement under the guidance of a trained Helper.

Mongrace Montessori House was established in 1964 by the late Ms. Monjushree Chatterjee and the late Mrs. Grace Wasim Pina with such a view to guide children in their formative years.

The name 'Mongrace' has been coined by combining the first names of the two Founders. The word House implies a home where children are not exposed to the dull atmosphere or regimentation of a school room but are allowed to progress in an environment reminiscent of their homes.

The Suresh Amiya Memorial Trust (SAMT), a public charitable Trust founded by the late Dr. Sadhan C. Dutt for the promotion of art, science, education and healthcare, took over the management of Mongrace Montessori House in 1984.

my son Taimur Ahmed Khan is in mongrace, Short street under Aunty Rakhi. My son has always been excited about attending the school but since the lockdown has started we have seen Aunty Rakhi given so much importance to online studies and making sure to see her students every week on Saturday. Shes been constantly been in touch with us and making sure Taimur dosnt miss his studies and learn new things on daily basis even at home. My son cant wait to go back to school after the lockdown. Thanks for all the teachers at mongrace for making these difficult times easy and fun for our kids. 😊

I acknowledge and appreciate the hard effort of Mongrace teachers for continuing excellence teaching for the kids even in such crisis moment. The most remarkable is the way of online presentation that the kids do not feel they are not at school It needs high level of skill to make the online presentation so live and so perfect ! It is incredible.

Respected Maam, I am Darshika Sheth mother of Khush Sheth 2.8 years old. My son is currently in Montessori. I am really glad that Mongrace Principal and the teachers are putting in great efforts to educate and engage our child via Google Classroom. They are learning via this a little but it same like watching it in television or You Tube channel. There should be more interaction between the child and the teachers which we as a parent cant do . All the videos be it rhymes or art and craft that are shared in the Google Classroom should be shown online or live so that child interacts with the teachers, they know who there teachers are and feel more comfortable and engaged listening the rhymes or doing the crafts. There are very less Worksheets given related to the videos. In Google Classroom there is an option of recording the videos. The parents who cant attend live session can always see recorded ones. I feel our child should be engaged with the school activities atleast 4 to 5 days every week. Our child will be now applying for higher schools and so they need to be trained and well prepared for this change. I request you to please look into this matter and do the needful. Thanking you. The school is doing a commendable job in these trying times. The commitment of the teachers especially Sadaf Tarannum Maam, Arpita Maam ,and Trina Maam is inspirational. My daughter Anushka loves her Sadaf Aunty and waits everyday for the online tasks to be done. That’s something as parents we long for in our children . The love for work . Wish this beautiful Institution all the very best. Sumit and Devika Ghosh

I am glad that i chose this school for my daughter. Classes through Google classroom is equally effective and at par with F2F teaching. Just 1 suggestion , video interaction with teachers n class mates should increase to atleast 2 times a week
