The Mira Movement in Education was born out of the vision of a philosopher and an educationist- Sadhu Vaswani. Himself a distinguished Professor and Principal of prestigious institutions, Sadhu Vaswani was a visionary who believed deeply in the cause of woman's education, long before feminism was even thought of. He founded the St.Mira's School in Hyderabad Sind in 1933. After the partition, Sadhu Vaswani selected Pune as the headquarters for his work, as also for the School.St.Mira's Educational Board was constituted in the year 1950 under the Chairmanship of Maharishi. D.K.Karve, who had watched the progress of the Mira Movement from its very inception. He had great appreciation for its ideals, and admiration for its Revered Founder. The High School was started on March 1, 1950. Soon after,St. Mira's Primary School was started in 1952, with a mission of making every child a gift of God and a pride to the human race.It is located in SADHU VASWANI CHOWK

Most terrible school i attended in my younger days grade 2 3 4. This was the most traumatizing period of my life..the teachers were extremely toxic and abusive. I remember once i forgot to bring homework..she removed my dress and made me stand in a dustbin with only shirt on for half a day while she used to paint her nails in class...
I was a good student who used to get good grades and imagine if i was earpulled, beaten on head, punched and what not, what would have the other not so well performing kids gone through with these monstrous teachers...
i can never forget that trauma these toxic behaviors induced on me growing up with fear...i m surprised this school hasnt been shut down yet..i am sure my other fellow classmates had similar horror stories to share of extreme abuse and toxicity...i will never forget the treatment meted out to me here and would not wish this on any other kid. Please don't send your kids to this school...they don't have an ounce of sensitivity needed to handle gentle minds...shame on their convent culture....

St. Mira’s Secondary School is where I was brought up. A school of not only knowledge but also taught us caring, sharing & service. Its a girls school.
The motive of our school is to give give and give.
The school not only teaches academics but also encourages girls in sports, computers, stitching, painting, dancing and many such other activities. Girls who pass out from this school are all rounders and multi talented. They are highly skilled and can live on their own their future life. Girls from St. Mira’s will never be dependent on anyone in any manner.
The school teachers are remarkable and have set a bench mark.
Many girls of St. Mira’s have been on the highest peak of their life to name some are:-
1. Annapurna Bothate who is Lt. Colonel
2. Soneya Newaskar who is also in the Army at great ranks.
3. Nupur Nandrekar and Myself Ashwini Padavkar we are National Handball players.

St. Mira's is known for guiding their students through religious teachings. The school has well maintained classrooms, playground and a sanctuary hall where assembly is held each day. It has an Audio Visual room for students, and every class has a system for students to engage in e-learning. It's a complete girls school with few male staff, rest of the teaching, non teaching staff are females.
