First of all, I would like to thank the Narayana Vidhyashram School Founder Mr. Suresh sir for changing the adamant behavior and lifestyle of our beloved son S. Daiwik.
We expected the below changes in Daiwik while joining NVS (in June 2020).
1. He should listen or respond to the questions asked to him. Atleast for what is your name.
2. He should chew and swallow the food. (Wherever we go we used to carry/give him Idly and sambar, because he did not chew other food properly.)
3. He should stand for more than 10 seconds in one place. (He don’t know to walk, he will run always, he avoids eye contact.)
4. He can’t adapt to the new environment. (Even going to school, even potty training took 2 months).
5. He should hold parent hands while crossing the road or while we are in the new place.
6. The worst part is his addiction to gadgets.
We requested Suresh sir to help us to change Daiwik’s behavior in these activities.
In 1 year of time, we have seen below changes in Daiwik’s behavior,
1. He respond/listen to whomever asking the questions and paying attention to them. In addition to that he started asking lot of questions.
2. He started eating food properly: starting with vegetables, chicken lollypop, prawns are his favorite now. We are happy that no need to search for soft foods wherever we go.
3. He started asking what he want: water, toys, etc.
4. He is enjoying with new people now: relatives home, exploring new places and all.
5. His gadgets addition got reduced and he is enjoying playing with his toys, especially asking his dad to come play with him.
6. We can’t even give answer for some of his questions now.
If we go to other schools, they would have suggested to give some therapy to Daiwik, and it would be like hell. But NVS made everything possible.
The vegetables snack which NVS has suggested for breaktime is the starting where Daiwik started eating on his own!
And then NVS has introduced Sprouts as snack in the morning breaktime. (I would like to appreciate the effort that NVS has taken in preparing the sprouts by themselves.) Even Doctors also prescribed us to add more proteins in the daily food for kids. Thanks for NVS for taking care of that part.
So, I personally request NVS to not stop giving sprouts to students. It’s a progressive thinking that NVS has taken, that should not be vain.
