This school is located at the heart of Mylapore. Sir Siva Swami Kalalaya focuses on holistic development. This school not only concentrates on academics , but also supports various sports. Classes start from LKG and upto 12th standard. The school also gives the kids to prove themself in some form of art. Arts & Crafts Students are taught drawing, painting, water colour techniques, still-life composition and charcoal-based art work. The school has taken the initiative of providing exclusive training to the students in Folk Art, Madhubani and Wadi. In fact, it is the only school in Chennai currently, to cater to this segment which is a unique distinction. MUSIC The school provides in-depth training to the students in music. Children are encouraged to participate in a host of competitions and have consistently won innumerable laurels by their mellifluous renderings. The musical maestros of Kalalaya showcase their talents during the Tyagaraja Aradhana celebrated in the school. SMART BOARDS Smart boards have been installed to make the teaching learning process more vibrant, interesting, interactive and interactive and enthusiastic. LIBRARY The school has a well stocked LIBRARY and a qualified librarian.Students are encouraged to borrow and read books. COMPUTER LAB The school has a Well-equipped computer lab with all latest hardware and software. Students from class II upwards are introduced to the basics of computer science. A separate graded curriculum is drawn up for each level. ABACUS The Abacus programme for students of the pre-primary section and class I. The School campus has CCTV cameras installed at all the key locations. From 1st Standard, students are taken to school ground for their Games period. From class 6 , students are taken to Alphonsa Ground where they can play Cricket , Football , etc..,, . The school has very well experienced teachers. The school has supported many students exel at their profesional sport. As of to me , This is one of the best school in Chennai now. For LKG , they function from 8 : 50 AM to 12:30 PM. Students of UKG function from 8:50 AM to 2:25 PM. Student of class 1 to 5 function till 3:05 PM. Students of class 6 -12 function till 3:45 PM.

This is perhaps one of the best schools in Chennai. They don’t have exams for kids upto 5th standard; only weekly tests are conducted and thank God they don’t torture children with homework. They have trained and experienced faculty who take personal care. Everyone here is friendly and approachable. The management is open to ideas and criticisms. They encourage children to participate in various cultural programs. Lack of sports facility is the only concern.
