Dav Nursery School - Mukherjee Nagar

Swami Dayanand was born on February 12,1824 in Tankara in the western Indian state of Gujarat. At a time when Hindustan was divided between the various schools of philosophy and theology , Swami Dayanand went straight back to the vedas as he considered them the most authoritative repository of knowledge and truth spoken in the "Words Of God" . After his demise in 1883 , a group of socially- oriented people decided to raise a memorial which should be a befitting tribute to his great ideals. They formed the  Dayanand Anglo Vedic (D.A.V) college trust and management society which was registered in 1855.

This was the beginning of great movement which is now popularly known as D.A.V movement. The society established its first institution,, D.A.V school in Lahore on June 1,1886, with Lala Hans Raj(later Mahatma Hans Raj) as its honourary headmaster .The main objective of the D.A.V institution is to impart such education to the children as ,while it helps to imbibe in them a sense of deep patriotism and pride in their ancient culture and civilization, it is also instills in them a disciplined outlook deeply dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge .These institutions aim at creating environment truly conductive to the development of the child mentally , physically and spiritually.The D.A.V College Trust and Management Society is already more than a hundred years old . This is now the biggest non-government educational organisation in India .It covers broadly the entire spectrum of educational activity in the country .At present the society is running more than 700 educational institutions.

                                                                              DAV Nursery School is a small part of this prolific fraternity called DAV. The seed for the school was sown by Sh. R. Sharma , honorable general secretary, D.A.V CMC. Since inception in 2009 the school has gone from strength to strength and presently has over 750 students and over 50 faculty members. It also boasts of a sound infrastructure and world class facilities for students at, DAV Nursery School, we aim to combine activity-oriented teaching and learning with value based education .Our Pedagogy is complete learner centric and the focuse is on the holistic development of the child.In essence education at DAV Nursery school involves mental,physical,socio-economic and moral development.The results of our efforts are seen in our children who turn out to be confident and free-thinking individuals.
