"FKS was founded in 1997, in Hyderabad by Shailaja Rao, with 20 students on a 4,000sft rented space with one teacher and five support staff. The school grew to 560 students, 65 teachers and 55 support staff in 2005, and today stands proud with over one thousand students on a three-acre facility comprising four buildings, a kitchen, and 16 school buses. The FKS philosophy of child first has stood us through some tough times, a simple fact that many educational institutions profess to follow, but few succeed. The Principal and the Board of Directors firmly believe that the success of the outgoing students and the satisfaction of the parents will further strengthen the FKS motto of child-centric education.Every step that Shailaja Rao and her Board take in ensuring that FKS students and their needs come first, result in each student feeling that he or she is the recipient of individual attention."

Hello, I am not sure when you have worked with us.  I am working since 2001. My experience is very different from what is written here. It is my second home. I am allowed to be myself. Given the freedom to be more creative n involved in everything that is happening in school.  The same with one and all. When I went for an "interview" I was asked to spend time in school, understand the system and then decide if this is the work culture I am looking for. The same procedure continues for one and all who walk into school to work with us to date. I am sure you were given a chance to spend time in school before you joined. I am one of the old-timers. In fact, the no-staff room concept is one of the unique (things) of FKS. We the team of teachers working at that time decided upon this. It is not the management who decided not to build the staff room. We are going to school to work with children as we love to be with children. Our intention is clear. We are there for children hence let's be with children. In fact, quite a few of the team members who had worked with our director in different cities before she started FKS in Hyderabad had moved into our school and are still working with us. Hope you are aware that attrition is zero we are given a chance to work forever! It's been 26 years now. Change of schedule - Done in the best interest of the children and teachers. If a teacher is on leave we don't believe in sending a substitute teacher, wherein she will give them some work and time passes by. We believe in handholding and exchanging classes in such cases and make sure children get the best of it. I as a teacher prefer to take my class by myself. Teachers are treated less than human level -  Really? I, In fact, feel that we are given a long rope, multiple chances, and supported to any extent. Exploiting labor - I have always seen my colleagues volunteering to join us in completing the task. There are colleagues who have certain constraints and the others always understand. No time to go to the washroom -  I believe we are so engrossed and involved in what is happening that we tend to push it. It's a personal thing. Other teachers behaving rudely -  We consider ourselves to be a family here. We are being ourselves as we are with our family members. At times we may say certain things to each other, but we always believed in talking about this, sorting it out n moving forward. We are setting an example for our children. This has helped so much. We say we are leading by example. What kind of an example am I setting? If we sit in a staff room talk about irrelevant things n create politics and why are we in a school then? By following the same routine every day, boredom sets in. When will the children learn to be flexible, open to changes, and give their best at any given point in time? I feel bad you are resentful - I will be more than willing to spend time to ease you out so you can move forward. My friend, I am open to a conversation with you if you are open to it as my experience is very different from yours. I write this to reach out to you. I wish you had spoken to us then. Never too late Sindhuja. When one works against the tide one can expect to get misunderstood and misrepresented! And it's okay. Thank you! This is my response to the review sent by my colleague Sindhusha…..

My review comes from a place of being a teacher here, so if anyone is planning to work here, this might be helpful for you. I started working here as soon as I finished my masters and they knew how to exploit labour. The teachers are treated like dirt, with no staffroom. NO STAFFROOM. Chimney sweeping in pre colonial times perhaps had better working conditions. I did not even have time to use the toilet. The meals provided were good, that's the only consolation. If this is how you treat your teachers, at a less than human level, I don't know what to say. The time table is never fixed. Perhaps the students get the better deal, but if you're a budding teacher DO NOT join this school. I've had instances of teachers behaving really rudely, and for not good reasons. It scarred my teaching experience, to the point that four years later, I'm still resentful.

The best school possible for the holistic development of your child. They inculcate values, morals and principles in the child through practice. Academics and extra curricular activities are beautifully integrated. The child learns to be independent and knows how to stand up for himself. Can never thank them enough for doing what they do!
