Traditionally, we see schools as a day of individual subjects where a teacher passes knowledge to their learners. Each subject is taught in its own right, perhaps by different teachers. Transdisciplinary learning is different in this case. Learning is not separated into a rigid structure. Instead, new knowledge is understood with visible connections across subjects.
