Summer Fields School is a certified All India CBSE- affiliated, English Medium Co-educational senior secondary institution. The first batch of students to take the AISSE was in March 1998. The school started under the aegis of the DLF Management in 1987 in a residential unit. By 1989 the school flourished and shifted to a new building to accomodate 625 students and a staff of 35. Over the years, the school has expanded and at present is housed in two different buildings. The Senior School (Classes 7th to 12th) is located in A-block and the Junior school (Classes Nursery to 6th) in the D- block od DLF City, Phase- 1. The school is self sufficient unit, with spacious and well- ventilated classrooms supported by smart boards. The school has well stocked libraries, seperate activity rooms and open play areas foa a number of sports activities and games. Well equipped Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Language and Compute Laboratorise, an Audio Visuial Room and an Amphitheatre also cater to the various needs of the students. The school has appropriate security measures in place to ensure a safe and secure enviornment.At Summer Field School, we aim at equipping the students with knowledge and confidence to face the competitive world of the 21st century and to carve a niche for themselves in society. This is achieved by the all- round holistic development of the pupils in terms of physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth. The tradition and modern thought co-exist at Summer Fields School, where the constant endeavour is to equip its students with high moral malues and life skills. The highly qualified and dedicated faculty makes learning an enjoyable experience for the students. Their guidance has helped the students not only to develop a love for learning but also to broaden their minds and horizons. Besides equipping them with intellectual and practical skills necessary to meet present and future challenges, also to mould them into global citizens focusing on building their character. At Summer Field school learning is progressive and not limited to books, worksheets and the classrooms. We aim to nurture the inquisitive and creative traits of children by engaging them in different fun filled hands on activities which encourage them to observe, think and master different concepts and skills rather than merely rote learning and memorising. The demand of the day is experiential and integrated learning. The education is based on the guidelines of the National Curriculum Framework of India. The focus is on making the students proficient in Literary and Numerical Skills. The syllabus, assessment and promotion policies are as per the norms set by the C.B.S.E.Co-curricular activities form a fundamental part of our school and aides in improving students learning at school. These activities intend to bring social & intellectual skills, moral, cultural & ethical values, personality development, and character advancement in students. It includes Visual and Performing arts(music and dance) Creative arts, Gardening, Cookery, Yoga, Meditation, and so on. We participate in various inter school competitions, host the inter school literary festival, SPLENDOUR and a cultural festival, VIBGYOR. Children are also taken for various educational field trips. We celebrate various festivals by doings carnivals and class assemblies.Physical training and Sports Curriculum in the school is well structured and offered daily to all student. It ensures physical fitness, resilience, fortitude, sportsmanship, discipline, self-confidence and teamwork. Ample opportunities are available to the students to participate in various tournaments at different levels.Sports Day happens every year with 100% participation.Councelling and Guidance is an integral component of the educationl mission of Summer Field School. The counsellor trains our students in Time management, Decision making, Problem Solving, Interpersonal Communication, Self Awareness, Adoloscent related Issues. The counsellor extends emotional and social support, promotes educational development and provides career guidance to all students. Parenting and stress management tips are also offered to the parents.
