ABOUT

A recent conversation with a young, thriving AES alumnus demonstrates the power of an AES education.

This alumnus was surprised to hear from friends, who graduated from other top performing schools in Delhi and elsewhere, that they remembered the pursuit of achievement, the pressure to perform but couldn’t remember many specific people, places, or details; that they didn't recall much joy.

A big contrast to what our AES alumnus remembers: He says he remembers every single day. He remembers the classes, the labs, the teachers, the positive emotions, the names, the friends, the faces. He remembers every corner of the AES campus, including the classrooms which felt personal and rich.

We’ve all read stories that we quickly forgot or that we’d rather forget. But our children’s international adventures, their friendships and mentors, all the sensory wonders of India and campus, their sense of belonging to our AES family—all are foundational memories we want them to carry for a lifetime.

Enter to Learn. Leave to Serve. Joyfully.

The AES story makes an imprint on people because we believe excellence in education and service are joyful pursuits. And joy creates an environment in the heart and mind that makes both the experience and the learning stick for a lifetime.

That’s the story that matters to us, and we’re sticking with it: we, and thousands of AES alumni the world over.

American Embassy school Admission Procedure

APPLY NOW

We are excited about your interest in the American Embassy School, New Delhi—An International Community.

We recognize that every transition is unique for each child. Once you have made the decision to apply, we want to make the process go as smoothly as possible. To start the application, please review the three-step process below. Please note that we have a rolling admissions and enrollment policy. We’ll support you from beginning to end.

How it Works: Applying in Three Easy Steps

Each step has a Prep-List underneath that shows you which documents or information you will need. If you gather the Prep-List items in advance, the online submission should be a snap.

Complete the online application form using the ‘Apply Now’ button.

When you enter the online application, please be ready to:

Attach a scanned passport-style color picture for each applicant. Approximately 2 x 2 inches with a light background. This picture will be used for school ID cards upon enrollment.

Complete the online application form (Student and Parent information). It’s important to answer ALL of the questions on the form.

Choose your payment option and click “SUBMIT."

Submit the non-refundable fee of USD 800 per application when prompted online.

When you are prompted to pay the fee you will have the following options:

Credit card—pay online immediately.

Bank transfer—you will be provided with the required details to pay via wire transfer.

Check—you will be provided with the information to pay via check.

Good to know:

Each application fee is good for two years of consideration.

The payment will secure an applicant within the Admissions priority category, based on the Admissions requirements.

We review applications on a first-come, first-served basis within each priority category.

Complete all other checklist items. Some require information from others. Once all checklist items have been submitted, your completed application will receive a timely review and thoughtful decision.

Have the following information and documents handy to upload:

Scanned copy of official school report cards (the past two years’ reports and most recent semester report when available)

Confidential teacher recommendations. Fill out your child's teachers' names and official school email addresses (private email addresses are not acceptable). The online form will be sent directly to the teacher to request their confidential recommendation.

*For middle and high school applicants: we need three confidential recommendations. Please be ready with the names and emails for the applicant's current or most recent:

Counselor or principal

English teacher

Math teacher

Scanned photocopies of the information and photo pages of the passports of parents/guardians and applicants.

For Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 applicants: have a scanned one-page drawing or writing piece done recently by your child.

For middle school and high school applicants: we want to include their voices! Download the Student Questionnaire and ask your child to complete the form, scan it, and submit it online.

Accommodation plans and/or educational evaluations (if applicable). Please note that applications for students with learning support needs or other unique circumstances may take longer to review.
